Ben Wankerl grew up in the green industry, learning the trade firsthand while working in his family’s landscaping business. From an early age, he developed a strong interest in how landscapes grow, function, and improve over time.
By the age of 12, Ben was already mowing lawns and plowing snow, gaining hands-on experience long before he could drive. Those early years helped shape the work ethic, attention to detail, and pride in craftsmanship that continue to guide the company today.
Today, Ben Wankerl Enterprises provides professional landscaping, lawn care, water features, and snow removal services for residential and commercial properties across Sauk City, Prairie du Sac, Baraboo, and surrounding communities.
We work closely with homeowners and businesses throughout Sauk, Dane, and Columbia Counties to plan and install outdoor spaces that fit the property, the environment, and the client’s vision.

Ben Wankerl Enterprises is built around a team of dependable professionals who take pride in their work. From project planning and design to installation and seasonal services, every member of the team focuses on doing the job right and delivering quality results for every client.
Ben is the founder of Ben Wankerl Enterprises LLC, and is the ‘holder of all hats’ (even though, he doesn’t wear hats) You will often find him working alongside the team. He is also a Captain with the Sauk City Fire Department.
Adam joined our team in 2025. He brought years of experience, and significant expertise in water features. He works in all divisions.
Kisstin joined our team in 2025. She brought a different perspective, work ethic, and a can do attitude. She works in all divisions.
Jim joined our team in 2025. He brought a wide array of experience, work ethic, and dedication. He primarily works in the mowing division. He is also a firefighter (retired Chief) with the Sauk City Fire Department.
Brandon joined our team in 2015. He is on our landscaping, and snow removal divisions. Often working early-morning winter storms, and large landscaping projects. He is also a firefighter with the Sauk City Fire Department.
Paul joined our team in 2015. Helping in indescribable ways. Paul passed away in 2022. His legacy and dedication will never be forgotten, or lost within BWE.
