Ben Wankerl grew up in the green industry working for the family business.
During his free time he would plant grass in his mothers empty flower pots, and study how it grows.
He learned how to professionally manicure lawns at the age of 12, always looking to provide that crisp, fresh cut look. Until he had his drivers license he would drive mowers from one job to another, carrying a string trimmer, and blower. Ben always wanted more, asking his parents to purchase a riding mower of his own to start his own lawn route in the neighborhood, his requests were denied.
When not mowing lawns in the summer, he was often working on landscaping projects, ranging from decorative landscape rock and plants, to paver patios, and retaining walls. Ben always had a desire and vision to make an outdated landscaped area into something new and beautiful that everyone could enjoy.
During the winter months Ben was always asking his parents if he could skip school to plow snow. The hard work didn't bother him, he preferred to shovel snow instead of being at school. At the age of 13 he was 'officially' in training on how to plow snow with a truck, and skid steer. He grew fond of the unique challenges that came along with snow
